Our Mission

StopAiFraud Foundation is a nonprofit public-interest digital safety organization dedicated to educating communities about AI-powered fraud. As artificial intelligence becomes more sophisticated, criminals are using deepfakes, voice clones, and AI-generated content to deceive and manipulate the public.

We believe that education and awareness are the strongest defenses against these evolving threats. Our mission is to serve as a trusted, accessible resource providing educational materials, awareness campaigns, and practical guidance to help individuals, families, organizations, and institutions recognize and prevent AI-enabled fraud.

Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status has been approved.

Our Founder's Story

Gary Turnipseed

Founder, StopAiFraud Foundation

My name is Gary Turnipseed, and I am with the StopAiFraud Foundation.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to educate communities—especially seniors—about the growing threat of AI-enabled fraud and scams.

One of the fastest growing threats facing communities today isn't street crime… it's AI-enabled fraud. And unfortunately seniors are often the ones targeted the most.

For more than 13 years I have worked as a public transit bus operator here in Rochester, New York. During that time, I've had thousands of conversations with passengers from every walk of life.

Over time, I started noticing a pattern.

Someone lost $500.
Someone else lost $1,000.

Then the stories started getting worse.

People were losing their entire Social Security check… sometimes even their life savings… to increasingly sophisticated scams powered by artificial intelligence.

These weren't careless people.

They were hardworking members of our community who were simply caught off guard by technology that is advancing faster than most people realize.

When it became personal

My own sister received a phone call from someone pretending to be her bank.
